Olio su telaOil on canvas, 119 x 165 cm., anno 1538

To portray the goddess Venus, the author takes his cue from a young woman in preparation for the wedding, more precisely for the ritual of the "toccamano". The naked figure is lying on the bed, with a winking gaze she turns to the observer and with her left hand she covers her pubis while with her right hand she holds a bouquet of roses, symbol of the goddess. At the foot of the bed, there is a small dog that symbolizes fidelity. On the right of the painting there is a view of the house, richly decorated and with a window in the background from which you can see the sky.
